4 Die In Roy-Buffalo Range Road Collision

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed the accident in a statement published on X on Monday, 31 August 2026.

Police said the collision happened at the 120-kilometre peg along the Roy-Buffalo Range Road at approximately 8pm.

The Toyota Hilux was travelling towards Zaka when it collided head-on with the Nissan AD Van, which was travelling towards Chiredzi.

The ZRP said four people died in the crash, while 12 others sustained injuries.

“Four people were killed while 12 others were injured when a Toyota Hilux vehicle, which was travelling towards Zaka carrying nine passengers, and a Nissan AD Van, which was travelling towards Chiredzi carrying five passengers, were involved in a head-on collision.”

Victims Taken To Chiredzi Hospital

The bodies of those who died were taken to Chiredzi General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

Police did not provide further details about the identities or conditions of the injured victims in the statement published on 31 August.

Police have not disclosed the circumstances leading to the collision.
