‘He didn’t grab the opportunity’: Khune tips Kaizer Chiefs star to leave

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune has spoken about the club’s current goalkeeping situation. Brandon Peterson has secured the number one position with outstanding performances this season.

He has kept 15 clean sheets in 26 matches. His form has been exceptional and consistent throughout the campaign. As a result, other goalkeepers are struggling to get game time at Naturena.

Peterson’s dominance means those waiting for opportunities must remain patient. Competition remains strong, but selection choices are becoming clearer each week.

Khune urges Bvuma to consider a loan move

Khune has urged Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma to consider leaving the club temporarily. The Amakhosi legend believes the academy graduate would benefit from a loan spell.

Recently, young goalkeeper Bontle Molefe left on loan. He joined Leicesterford City FC until the end of the season. Khune revealed he advised Molefe to seek regular game time.

He now hopes Bvuma follows the same path to revive his prospects. According to Soccer Laduma, Khune believes a loan move could help Bvuma regain confidence and form.

“He tried to play for DDC, but at some point, he was called to the first team to come and compete with us. But again, I think it’s good to see him going away and playing. He is growing, and if he doesn’t, he’s not a regular. He’s also been waiting on the wings to get his break. And yes, he got his break, but unfortunately, he didn’t grab the opportunity with both hands, hence why he’s been dropped to number two,” – Khune told the publication.

Bvuma’s record and future prospects

Bruce Bvuma has been part of the Amakhosi first team for nearly a decade. He graduated from the Kaizer Chiefs academy in 2017.

Since then, he has made 79 appearances for the club. He has recorded 28 clean sheets while conceding 86 goals.

Bvuma is now 30 years old and still has several playing years ahead. A loan move could help him rediscover form and strengthen his future prospects.
