Only Survivor in Accident That Killed Tatenda Pinjisi Shares Chilling Details (WATCH)
The only person to survive the tragic car accident that claimed the life of Sungura artist Tatenda Pinjisi has shared chilling details of what happened on that fateful day.
Pinjisi, who was just 34 years old, died at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital on Sunday from injuries sustained in a horrific accident near the Norton Tollgate on Friday, April 11. He and his bandmates were on their way to a show in Kadoma when the tragedy struck. Two of his fellow band members and a female passenger, picked up earlier at the Harare Showgrounds, died on the spot.

The sole survivor of the crash recalled how a vehicle suddenly veered into their lane, giving them no time to react and causing a devastating head-on collision.
“Panga pane motokari yanga iri ku right iri like tuma mini Bakers Inn. Kukamota kwanga kune 5 iko kechi 6. Mukomana wekamota akangobva ku right side achiuya ku left. Pamwe akaona kuti irikuuya kana kuti haana kuona. I don’t know. Yakangobva ku right side ichiuya ku left. Munhu uyu akauya akatopedza ma gear akarovera patiri ndokubva yaita head-on,” the man narrated.
Tatenda Pinjisi’s Injuries Described in Detail
He described the terrifying moment of impact and the injuries that left Pinjisi fighting for his life.
“After the head-on, Tatenda was the first to be hit. The steering wheel slammed into him, then the engine crushed him,” he said. “His right thigh was broken, his left arm was fractured, and he had deep cuts on his face from broken glass.”

Man Recounts How He Survived
The survivor also shared how he himself made it out alive, narrowly.
“I’m the only one who came out of the crash alive,” he said. “When we hit, I slammed into the driver’s seat, and then was thrown backwards. That’s when I realised the others were already dead.”
