Former Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns winger Kudakwashe Mahachi has made his long-awaited return to football.
He endured several off-field challenges in recent years. These issues kept him away from regular football.

Now, he is ready for a fresh start. The experienced winger has signed for Zimbabwean giants Highlanders FC.
Former Pirates Star Targets Fresh Start at Highlanders
Highlanders FC will benefit from Mahachi’s experience and attacking talent this season.
The former Orlando Pirates winger struggled to regain momentum after lengthy legal challenges. However, he now aims to rebuild his career at a familiar club in Zimbabwe.
“So, I’m promising the fans to make them happy every day, happy every week. So, we’re hoping to win every game that we’re going to play. I’ve got a big job to do because I’ve got great young stars,” the former Pirates star said as quoted by FARPost.
“I’m emotional because I haven’t been playing regularly for two years. So, coming to Highlanders is a good thing for me. Winning against Dynamos in the first game is a good thing for me. So, I’m looking forward to the season.”
Mahachi’s PSL Career and Impact
Mahachi enjoyed a solid spell in South Africa from 2014 to 2022. He first joined Mamelodi Sundowns before moving to Golden Arrows.

His time with the Buccaneers was brief but impactful. He joined SuperSport United in 2019 and spent three seasons there.
Overall, Mahachi scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists during his PSL career.
