Sikandar Raza Leads the Way in Latest ICC T20 World Cup Rankings

Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has regained his position as the number one all-rounder in the latest ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings.

Strong performances during Zimbabwe’s T20 World Cup campaign, including a 45-run innings against Sri Lanka in Colombo and a 27-run effort versus the West Indies in Mumbai, helped Raza surpass Pakistan’s Saim Ayub at the top of the all-rounder standings.

The pair have frequently swapped places in recent ranking updates, with Raza now fending off emerging challengers like India’s Shivam Dube and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi, who climbed to seventh and eighth positions respectively.

Shifts Among Top Batters

While Raza dominates the all-rounder list, other categories have also seen significant movement. India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the T20I batting rankings, holding a 62-point gap over England’s Phil Salt. Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan moved up two spots to third after an impressive World Cup showing, marking a new career-high rating.

Other notable risers include India’s Ishan Kishan (up three places to fifth), South Africa’s Dewald Brevis (up 10 spots to ninth), Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran (up four to 13th), West Indies captain Shai Hope (up four to 14th), and England captain Harry Brook, who surged ten positions to 18th.

Bowler Rankings See Big Movers

On the bowling front, India spinner Varun Chakravarthy retained the top position despite an expensive spell against South Africa. South African seamer Corbin Bosch emerged as the biggest improver, climbing 21 places to third overall thanks to a three-wicket haul against the UAE and a tidy 2/12 against India.

Other bowlers making significant progress include West Indies’ Matthew Forde (up 23 places to seventh), India’s Jasprit Bumrah (up seven to eighth), South Africa’s Marco Jansen (up eight to equal 19th), Suriname-born spinner Gudakesh Motie (up 17 to 21st), and England’s Liam Dawson, who climbed 23 spots to 23rd.

Rankings Reflect World Cup Impact

The latest ICC rankings highlight the impact of the ongoing T20 World Cup, with several players rising sharply thanks to standout performances on cricket’s biggest stage. For Raza and Zimbabwe, the update underlines the skipper’s continued influence and consistency as the team pushes deeper into the tournament.
