Joburg traffic cop shoots partner & then takes her own life in shocking incident

Two off-duty Gauteng traffic officer were found dead at Debonair Park in De Deur, Vaal on Saturday, 17 August.

It was reported that the officers, who were allegedly a couple, were at an after tears where they allegedly had a quarrel before leaving.

Gunshots were later heard, and their bodies were found lying in the street. It’s alleged that Neo Jane Kgaba (38) shot and killed her partner, Dalindyebo Dineka (31) before turning the gun on herself.

Dineka allegedly sustained four gunshot wounds while Kgaba sustained a gunshot wound on the head.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesman Sello Maremane told Daily Sun he’s deeply saddened by the officers’ deaths.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our two dedicated traffic officers. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the friends, family members, and colleagues of the officers,” said Maremane.

“The officers were known for their unwavering dedication, commitment and served the public with integrity. The department will communicate the details of the memorial and funeral service of the members. We are working closely with law enforcement officers to investigate the details of the case.”

Asked if indeed Kgaba shot her partner, Maremane said it’s subject to investigation.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Colonel Noxolo Kweza said De Deur cops are investigating a murder and suicide case after two traffic police officers’ bodies were found lying in the street.
