In response to the tragedy, Sir Wicknel made a significant and heartfelt contribution. He gifted Ronald Mujuru a brand-new 2026 Toyota Fortuner valued at approximately USD 80,000. Additionally, he provided USD 50,000 in cash as financial support.
Importantly, he emphasized that the gesture carried no desire for recognition. Instead, it represented a traditional act of “chema,” symbolizing shared grief and solidarity. Through this act, he aimed to ease the emotional and financial burden faced by Ronald.
Furthermore, Sir Wicknell expressed deep empathy, acknowledging that no gift could replace the lost lives. However, he hoped the support would help Ronald rebuild and find strength again.
