More Than Football: Dynamos Players Left Ronald Mujuru In Tears (video)

Dynamos Football Club players and executives visited Ronald Mujuru in Tynwald North on Wednesday, 8 April. They visited after he lost his entire family in a road accident last week. The nation reacted with deep shock after the heartbreaking news emerged.

Mujuru lost his wife, Lilian (40), and their five children. The children were Nokutenda (15), Makanaka (13), Ronald Jnr (11), Rufaro Shalom (7), and Kayden (3). The accident happened last Thursday on the Masvingo-Harare highway near the Chatsworth turn-off.

Dynamos Show Support and Solidarity

Mujuru strongly supports Dynamos and regularly attends their matches. Meanwhile, on the burial day, Dynamos played against Simba Bhora. Before kickoff, the team observed a moment of silence for the family. They also dedicated their 1-0 victory to the departed loved ones.

Afterwards, a delegation visited Mujuru to comfort him. The group included CEO Desmond Bvute and Secretary General Divine Sena. Several players also joined the visit to show unity and care.

Mujuru Finds Comfort in Visit

Speaking privately with a reporter, Mujuru shared his feelings. Chris “Romario” Musekiwa stood beside him during the conversation. Mujuru said the visit helped ease his pain during this difficult period.

“I am now a bit lighter after seeing Dynamos coming to pay their condolences,” said Mujuru.

“I feel like a huge lump on my chest has been removed. I am very happy to say the least.

“You know, when you see a team, very close to your heart, a team that is your second home coming to your first home to say sorry, it just means everything…”

Finally, the club gifted Mujuru a VVIP season ticket for the rest of the year.
