A 36-year-old man from Selous has received a two-year jail sentence after setting fire to another man’s hut. The incident followed a US$2 dispute on 3 April 2026.
Ali Munyambwana argued with the victim at a shop in the Selous Tobacco Farm compound. However, the disagreement quickly escalated.
After the argument, Munyambwana went directly to the victim’s home. He then set the thatched hut on fire while a neighbour watched.
