The accident occurred at the intersection of Jefferson and Arlington Roads, leaving passengers shaken and causing a temporary disruption to traffic in the area.
Driver Tries to Avoid Collision
Witnesses and passengers said the commuter omnibus was travelling towards Harare’s Central Business District from Seke L in Chitungwiza when it developed mechanical problems.
According to passengers, the driver appeared to experience brake failure and attempted to avoid crashing into vehicles ahead by swerving off course.
However, the evasive action caused the vehicle to overturn and come to rest on its side.

The omnibus was carrying 18 passengers at the time of the accident. Several occupants sustained minor injuries during the crash.
Emergency responders attended the scene, with some of the injured taken to hospital by ambulance for medical attention.
