Former Warriors star Onismor Bhasera leaves coaching role at South African top-flight club

Former Zimbabwe international Onismor Bhasera has left South African Betway Premiership club Siwelele FC after his contract expired.

The former Warriors defender will not join the club’s pre-season preparations for the 2026/27 season. According to FarPost, Siwelele are restructuring their technical department after completing their first campaign in the top flight.

Quick coaching exit

Bhasera joined the Bloemfontein-based outfit last year after ending his playing career at the close of the 2025/26 season.

He quickly stepped into coaching after preparing for the transition during his final years at SuperSport United. During that period, he also worked towards earning his coaching qualifications.

However, his stay at Siwelele has ended after just one season.

Club revamps technical team

Meanwhile, head coach Lehlohonolo Seema continues reshaping his backroom staff before the new campaign.

The club has already appointed Mario Masha as second assistant coach. In addition, experienced analyst Musi Matlaba has joined as a technical consultant. He will oversee scouting and player recruitment.

Bhasera’s next destination remains uncertain. However, reports from South Africa have linked the former left-back with a possible coaching return to Zimbabwe.
