Kaizer Chiefs have continued reshaping their squad ahead of the new Betway Premiership campaign. The club recently confirmed the signing of Tanzanian midfielder Adolf Mtasingwa from Azam FC. At the same time, goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari secured a loan move.
So far, Amakhosi have completed eight major transfer decisions. Three players have arrived, while five have exited as Fernando Da Cruz prepares his squad.
Kaizer Chiefs strengthen key positions
Chiefs have reinforced several important areas during the transfer window. The club added a goalkeeper, a central defender and a defensive midfielder.
The new arrivals are:
- Thabo Moloisane – central defender from Stellenbosch FC.
- Renaldo Leaner – goalkeeper from Sekhukhune United.
- Adolf Mtasingwa – defensive midfielder from Azam FC (Tanzania).
Notably, Mtasingwa becomes the first Tanzanian player to represent Amakhosi. Furthermore, he brings valuable European experience after playing in Iceland, Norway and Finland.
Five players leave Amakhosi
Meanwhile, Chiefs have also reduced the squad by confirming five departures. Four players left permanently, while Ntwari departed on loan.
One of the biggest exits is Aden McCarthy. The talented 21-year-old centre-back impressed in Soweto last season before earning a move to Europe.
The confirmed departures are:
- George Matlou – joined Stellenbosch FC.
- Tashreeq Morris – joined Durban City FC.
- Happy Mashiane – currently without a club.
- Aden McCarthy – joined Sabah SK.
- Fiacre Ntwari – loaned to Kruger United.
With three signings and five exits confirmed, Kaizer Chiefs have already made eight significant squad decisions before the season begins.
However, the club’s transfer business may not be finished. Chiefs continue to attract strong links with Stellenbosch FC winger Langelihle Phili. In addition, they remain interested in signing an attacking midfielder.
The club could also enter the market for a left-back. That need increased after Paseka Mako suffered a fractured arm during the team’s tour of Spain.
