Court Reveals New Details In Holy Ten Rape Case As Singer Secures Bail
Fresh details have emerged in the rape case involving Zimbabwean hip-hop artist Holy Ten, with prosecutors alleging the complainant accompanied the musician from a recording session in Avondale to a bed-and-breakfast in Hatfield, where the alleged offence took place.
The allegations were outlined in court on Wednesday as the rapper appeared before a Harare regional magistrate and was released on US$500 bail pending trial.

State Details Alleged Events
According to the State, the complainant and a friend went to Avondale Shopping Centre at around 3pm on Monday to meet Holy Ten, who was recording music. Prosecutors allege the woman had been invited to feature in one of the artist’s music videos.
The State says the complainant’s friend later left, after which Holy Ten allegedly travelled with the complainant to a bed-and-breakfast in Hatfield, where he is said to be staying.
Prosecutors allege that once inside the room, the musician threatened the complainant and warned her to comply with his demands or risk being killed.
He is accused of undressing the complainant, forcing her onto a bed and raping her.
Complaint Reported To Police
The State further alleges that after the incident, Holy Ten instructed one of his colleagues to arrange an InDrive vehicle for the complainant.
She allegedly travelled to Avondale Shopping Centre, where she met her aunt, with whom she lives.
According to prosecutors, the complainant initially told her aunt that she had been visiting a friend before later disclosing the alleged assault. Her aunt then accompanied her to report the matter to the police, leading to Holy Ten’s arrest.
Strict Bail Conditions
Holy Ten, who is represented by lawyer Admire Rubaya, was granted bail of US$500.
As part of his bail conditions, he was ordered to surrender his passport and report to the police once every week until the matter is finalised.
He is expected to return to court on August 7.
Four Suspects Still Being Sought
Prosecutors also told the court that four of Holy Ten’s colleagues, who are alleged to have played a role in the commission of the offence, have not yet been arrested and remain at large.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
