Prince Dube continued his bright start at Hardrock after scoring in a comfortable 2-0 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League win over Agama on Thursday.
The Zimbabwe international grabbed his second league goal since returning home earlier this month. He spent several seasons playing outside Zimbabwe before rejoining the domestic league.
Dube seals another Hardrock victory
Hardrock struggled to break down Agama for most of the contest. However, they finally found the breakthrough in the closing stages.
Masimba Mambare opened the scoring in the 80th minute to give Hardrock the advantage.
Five minutes later, Dube finished the job with his second goal for the club. His strike secured all three points and confirmed a deserved victory.
As a result, Hardrock climbed back to second place in the league standings. Meanwhile, Agama stayed 15th after another disappointing outing.
Hunters stun CAPS United as Triangle draw
Elsewhere, Hunters produced one of the day’s biggest surprises with a 1-0 victory over CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium.
Godfrey Dabgwa scored the decisive goal during the first half. Hunters then defended strongly to protect their narrow lead until full-time.
The victory lifted Hunters to 24 points and into 14th place on the table.
Meanwhile, CAPS United remained fifth in the standings. However, they now trail league leaders Scottland by 13 points.
In another fixture, Triangle United and Ngezi Platinum Stars played out a 1-1 draw at Gibbo Stadium. Both teams settled for a point after an evenly contested encounter.
