Highlanders FC Mourns Chairman, Vice Chairman And Treasurer Killed In Tragic Road Accident
Highlanders Football Club has paid tribute to three of its senior executive members who died in a tragic road traffic accident while returning from the club’s Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against ZPC Kariba.
The accident claimed the lives of club chairman Retired Colonel Kenneth Mhlophe, vice-chairman Sifiso Siziba and the treasurer, Nkani Khoza.

Club Confirms Tragic Loss
In a statement, Highlanders confirmed the deaths of the three officials, describing the news as a devastating blow to the club and its supporters.
“It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that Highlanders Football Club confirms the untimely passing of our beloved Club Chairman, Rtd. Col. Kenneth Mhlophe, Vice Chairman, Sifiso Siziba, and Executive Committee Member Finance, Nkani Khoza,” the club said.

‘More Than Club Officials’
Highlanders said the three men played a far greater role than their official titles suggested, praising their leadership and dedication to the club.
“They were far more than club officials. They were the architects of the Club’s vision, the guardians of our values, and father figures to so many within the Highlanders Football Club family,” the statement read.
The club added that their “leadership, wisdom, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Bosso will never be forgotten.”
Condolences To Families And Supporters
Highlanders extended its sympathies to the bereaved families, members of the football community and supporters affected by the tragedy.
“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to their families, loved ones, the football fraternity, our members, supporters, and everyone whose lives they touched,” the club said.
The club also appealed to supporters to remember the grieving families in their thoughts and prayers during what it described as an incredibly difficult time.
Funeral Details To Follow
Highlanders said arrangements for the funerals and other official matters will be announced at a later stage.
The club concluded its tribute by honouring the lasting contribution of the three executives.
“Rest in peace and power, our leaders. Your legacy will live on forever in the heart of Highlanders Football Club,” the statement said.
