Marshall Munetsi has made his intentions clear by pledging his future to Wolves despite recent transfer speculation. The Zimbabwe international insists his main objective is helping the club earn promotion back to the Premier League.
The midfielder attracted interest from Paris FC and Nottingham Forest earlier this year. However, the transfer talk has faded after he rejoined Wolves for pre-season preparations.
Munetsi prioritises Wolves promotion
Speaking to the Express & Star, Munetsi revealed that talks with the club’s hierarchy strengthened his desire to remain at Molineux.
He said: “At the moment, with the conversations I’ve had with the club and the management, they want to build a team and I think the priority for me is to make sure that I also help the team.
“As long as they want me to be here, I’m happy to be here.”
The Zimbabwean midfielder stressed that he remains committed to the project. Furthermore, he believes supporting the team’s ambitions comes before everything else.
Premier League return remains the target
Munetsi also highlighted Wolves’ biggest objective for the coming season. He explained that everyone at the club shares the same determination to secure an immediate return to the Premier League.
He said: “This is the main priority, but above all, what is most important right now is to make sure that the club gets back to the Premier League.
“No matter who comes in, no matter who stays, that is the most important message that has come from the chairman, that the club has to go back.”
His comments reinforce his commitment to Wolves. They also underline the club’s clear focus on regaining its Premier League status as quickly as possible.
