Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Knowledge Musona has ruled out retirement for now. Instead, he plans to keep playing while his body remains strong.
The 36-year-old believes he can still perform at a high level. As a result, he refuses to set a retirement deadline.
Musona recently faced his former club when Scottland FC took on Kaizer Chiefs in a weekend friendly.
Musona determined to extend his career
Speaking to Kick-Off, Musona explained that his fitness will decide when his career eventually ends.
“As for now, I’m still fit.
“I can still play at least 90% of the games, so as long as I’m injury free, I will continue to give everything that I have until the end.
“I will not give it a timeline, but I will take each season as it comes and if injury free, I will play as much as I can.”
His comments show confidence in his physical condition. Moreover, he remains eager to contribute whenever he is called upon.
Veteran striker still making an impact
Musona launched his professional career with Kaizer Chiefs in 2009. Soon after, he secured a move to Germany with Hoffenheim.
He later enjoyed spells in Belgium and Saudi Arabia. Consequently, he built an impressive career across three continents.
In 2025, Musona returned home by signing for Scottland FC. It marked his first appearance in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
The striker arrived as a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Al Akhdoud.
He quickly formed a dangerous partnership with Walter Musona and Khama Billiat. Together, they strengthened Scottland’s attacking threat.
Musona has already scored eight league goals during the 2026 campaign. Meanwhile, he continues to play a vital role in Scottland’s title ambitions.
As long as injuries stay away, Musona believes he still has plenty to offer. Therefore, retirement can wait.
