Kaizer Chiefs Legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane Lands Coaching Role At Zimbabwe’s FC Platinum
Kaizer Chiefs legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane is embarking on a new coaching adventure after securing a role with Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League side FC Platinum.
The former Bafana Bafana midfielder has joined the Zvishavane-based club as assistant coach following the expiry of his contract with Botswana outfit Matebele FC, where he spent last season guiding the team in the Botswana Premier League.
Letsholonyane’s move comes shortly after FC Platinum unveiled South African coach Thabo Senong as their new head coach, with the former national team assistant opting to bring a familiar face into his technical team.

Fresh start after successful Botswana spell
Although discussions over extending his stay at Matebele had taken place, Letsholonyane has instead opted for a fresh challenge in Zimbabwe.
The former midfielder leaves Botswana after overseeing an encouraging campaign that saw Matebele finish 10th in the league. The club improved on its previous season’s performance by climbing two places in the standings while collecting three more points than the year before.
His work at the club earned praise for helping the side make noticeable progress despite operating in a competitive league.
New mission at FC Platinum
Letsholonyane has already arrived in Zimbabwe alongside Senong as the pair prepare to begin work with FC Platinum.
The duo take over a side looking to improve its fortunes after a difficult campaign. Senong recently replaced Joel Luphahla as head coach and has wasted little time assembling his preferred backroom staff.
FC Platinum currently sit 10th in the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League after 25 matches. With nine league fixtures remaining, the new technical team will be aiming to lift the club higher up the table before the season concludes.
For Letsholonyane, the appointment marks another important step in his coaching journey as he looks to build on his growing experience after a distinguished playing career with Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana.
