CHECK OUT: Scottland FC discover CAF Champions League opponents

Scottland FC have discovered their first opponents in their historic CAF Champions League campaign.

The Zimbabwean champions will meet Eswatini titleholders Nsingizini Hotspurs in the competition’s preliminary round.

The draw took place in Cairo on Thursday, setting up a two-legged September showdown.

Scottland FC face Eswatini champions

The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions will enter Africa’s top club competition for the first time.

They will now prepare for a challenging battle against Nsingizini Hotspurs.

The opening encounter will take place between 4 and 6 September. Meanwhile, the return fixture follows from 11 to 13 September.

Scottland will therefore need to navigate both legs successfully to advance.

Tough test awaits in next round

If Scottland FC overcome their Eswatini opponents, another test awaits in October.

They will face either UD Songo or Atlético Petróleos in the second preliminary round.

Mozambique’s UD Songo will battle Angola’s Atlético Petróleos for that opportunity.

Consequently, Scottland already know the potential route towards the competition’s later stages.

Their immediate priority, however, remains securing progression against Nsingizini Hotspurs in September.
