Muduva and Wife to Be Buried Separately as Families Reveal Funeral Plans

The families of Martin Muduva and his wife, Lyliosa Chirara, have reached an agreement on their burial arrangements.

The couple died in a tragic murder-suicide that has shocked their relatives and communities.

Muduva will be buried in Murambinda, Buhera, Manicaland, on Sunday.

He served as a Commissioner with the Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC).

He also lectured at Midlands State University (MSU).

Meanwhile, Lyliosa will be laid to rest at her family home in Njanja, Hwedza.

Her burial date has not yet been announced by her relatives.

Some members of her family will remain in Dzivarasekwa during the mourning period.

Gift Muduva, who speaks on behalf of the family, confirmed the latest arrangements.

“Dzivarasekwa community and everyone here will be allowed to pay their last respects tomorrow (Saturday), before we take the body to Buhera for burial on Sunday,” he said.

He added that the family would announce Lyliosa’s burial arrangements later.

Couple’s relationship began at Murambinda School

The separate funerals follow discussions between relatives from both families.

People close to the families said the couple first met at Murambinda School.

Their relationship reportedly grew over time before they married approximately 14 years ago.

The couple later built a family together and had three children.

However, their marriage ended in a devastating incident that claimed both their lives.

Lyliosa, who worked as a nurse, is alleged to have attacked Martin with an axe.

She later reportedly took her own life.

The circumstances surrounding the tragedy have left their families and communities mourning.

The children have now been left without both parents following the devastating incident.
