Nelson Chamisa says his emerging Citizens Movement is being built quietly, steadily and deliberately across Zimbabwe.
The former Citizens Coalition for Change leader outlined his approach in a message to supporters.
Chamisa said the movement was focused on purpose, discipline and preparation rather than publicity.
“We’re building strong and with purpose…quietly, steadily, deliberately, everywhere, and together,” he said.
Chamisa outlines a quiet building strategy
According to Chamisa, the movement is already laying foundations for a broader political organisation.
He said the project would be “bigger, stronger, broader and enduring” as it continues to develop.
Chamisa also suggested that much of the work remains behind the scenes.
“What is being built today may not yet be visible to everyone, but it will be,” he said.
“You may not see it yet. But you will.”
His comments come as Chamisa continues developing a new political project after leaving the CCC leadership.
He announced his return to active politics earlier this year, describing his new initiative as a broad-based citizens’ movement.
‘Building everywhere’ and calling for participation
Chamisa emphasised collective participation in his latest message.
He repeated the phrase “Building silently. Building everywhere. Building together.”
He then used several phrases from Zimbabwe’s languages before calling on supporters to participate.
“Play your part. Subscribe to the Movement,” Chamisa said.
The latest message provides limited detail about the movement’s formal structures or leadership.
However, Chamisa’s emphasis remains focused on organisation, preparation and expanding participation.
His comments indicate that he wants supporters to view the project as a long-term undertaking.
The movement’s development comes amid continued political activity surrounding Chamisa and Zimbabwe’s opposition landscape.
For now, Chamisa says the groundwork is continuing away from the public spotlight.
He insists the results of that work will become visible with time.
