Man Sells Car To Unknown Buyer — Found Dead In His Bedroom The Next Morning
A Buhera man was found dead in his bedroom the morning after he reportedly left home in his car following negotiations with an unidentified buyer. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Edmore Chirombe’s death and the disappearance of his vehicle.
Buhera Car Sale Takes Unexpected Turn
The incident happened in Buhera, Manicaland, on 9 September 2026, with the death discovered the following morning.
According to The Herald, an unidentified man arrived at Chirombe’s homestead around 10am to discuss buying his vehicle. His domestic worker, Arnold Musamadya, reportedly witnessed the negotiations.
Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka gave the following account:
“At around 12pm, the unknown person left Chirombe’s homestead. At around 2pm, Chirombe left driving his vehicle and returned at around 4pm walking on foot.”
The vehicle was reportedly no longer with him when he returned.
Domestic Worker Makes Grim Discovery
The following morning, Musamadya reportedly noticed that Chirombe’s bedroom was locked from inside, with the keys hanging on the padlock.
He looked through a window and saw Chirombe lying motionless on his bed.
Police attended the scene after the matter was reported to ZRP Buhera.
Assistant Inspector Chinyoka said:
“The body was inspected and no visible injuries were noted. It was subsequently taken to Murambinda Mission Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Investigations are still in progress.”
The circumstances surrounding Chirombe’s death, the identity of the prospective buyer and the whereabouts of the vehicle remain part of the police investigation.
No cause of death has been confirmed. The case remains under investigation, with a post-mortem examination expected to provide further information about Chirombe’s death.
