The chilling incident unfolded when Mamanokora approached Kachimanga on September 15, asking for repayment of the undisclosed loan. Instead of returning the money, Kachimanga attacked Mamanokora with an axe, striking him twice on the head in a shocking act of violence.

Fortunately, Mamanokora survived the brutal assault, and a medical report detailing his injuries was presented as evidence in court. Kachimanga appeared before the Chinhoyi Magistrates Court and was found guilty of attempted murder. He was sentenced to three years in prison, with one year suspended on the condition of good behaviour, meaning he will serve an effective two-year term.

Fatal Stabbing Over a Girl in Lubimbi

In a separate case, 30-year-old Qiniso Dube of Mafururo Village, Lubimbi, faces murder charges after allegedly stabbing a man to death in a jealous rage. The fatal incident occurred on October 20, 2024, after Dube and a group of friends, including a girl, were heading home from Ntando shops.

The now-deceased victim, who joined the group and started talking to the girl, sparked Dube’s anger. After the man refused Dube’s order to leave, Dube went to his homestead, armed himself with a knife, and came back to confront the victim. A violent altercation ensued, ending with Dube stabbing the man three times in the chest, once in the back, and once on the hand leading to his death.

A police report was made, and Dube was arrested shortly after the incident. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on November 5, 2024, to face the murder charge.
