BUSE Makes VP Kembo Mohadi’s Job Easier With New Real-Time Project Tracker

Vice President Kembo Mohadi just got a high-tech helping hand, thanks to Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE). The university has developed a dashboard called Chiringa, designed to help him monitor all government projects under the Social Services Cluster, without digging through messy spreadsheets or endless emails.

The dashboard, which officially went live on Tuesday, 13 May, allows ministries to upload and update their top three priority projects. So far, 87 key projects have already been entered and are being tracked.

Whether Mohadi is in Zimbabwe or travelling abroad, he can now check the progress of government programmes in real time—even seeing the status of something as specific as a delivery made that very day.

Gone are the days of excuses like “I didn’t see the email.” With Chiringa, officials can log in anytime and find updated information at a glance.

Speaking at a Social Services Cluster meeting in Harare, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya said the system will make it easier for the Vice President to oversee national priorities without getting bogged down in administrative delays.

He explained that the Vice President’s role is now much more streamlined:

“This tool will strengthen and yet simplify the Vice President’s supervisory role to monitor improvements in our sector in real time. I do not doubt that the priority projects that are being presented in line with our mandates are in our 2025 strategic plan statement,” he said.

He added that the submitted projects are all part of Zimbabwe’s 2025 strategic goals and will be closely supervised throughout the year to ensure they deliver meaningful results.

Dr Rushwaya also reminded cluster members to stay aligned with the country’s development agenda, especially when it comes to projects that focus on improving the lives of young people and women.

He said these programmes—spanning everything from healthcare and housing to education and youth and women empowerment—play a crucial role in shaping the future:

“Through youth empowerment, sports, culture, ICT, gender, healthcare, skills training, education, housing, and social and welfare programmes, we are investing in the future of our country and accelerating towards 2030. Its impact is most evident in our efforts to uplift the youth and women of Zimbabwe, who form the backbone of our democratic community,” he said.

He also clarified the Vice President’s position within the Social Services Cluster. While Mohadi has oversight, he is there to advise, not micromanage.
