In a deeply saddening turn of events, Naison Musaka, a close friend of renowned karateka Sensei Mugove “Mugo” Muhambi, has died just hours after the martial arts expert’s passing. Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa confirmed the news on Sunday evening, 18 May.

Mliswa revealed that Naison suffered a stroke shortly after learning of Sensei Mugo’s death in a car accident in Borrowdale on Saturday, 17 May. He said the emotional shock of losing his close friend was simply too much for Naison to bear.
Sharing his heartbreak on social media, Mliswa described the loss of both men as a major blow to the fitness and wellness community in Zimbabwe.
“Devastating news! Naison Masaka, Mugo’s friend, whom I earlier on reported to have suffered a stroke has passed away! Two gentle giants have passed away, one after the other. I’m really devastated and in pain.”

Mliswa also spoke openly about the emotional toll the loss had taken on him. He said he had done all he could to help Naison, but sadly, his efforts weren’t enough. He wrote:
“He suffered a stroke after hearing of the death of Mugove Muhambi as they were very close. I tried all I could, facilitating for brain scans and everything but it wasn’t enough. The wellness and fitness scene will never be the same without these two gentle giants of the craft!”
