Dynamos FC Hit with FIFA Transfer Ban

The Harare-based club failed to settle outstanding amounts to Ghanaian duo Emmanuel Paga and Fredrick Ansah-Botchway, who are owed US$8,500 and US$10,000, respectively. As a result, FIFA has banned Dynamos FC from signing and registering any new players until the debts are cleared.

The news was first reported by football platform @263football_zw on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, 28 May 2025. The report read:

“FIFA bans Dynamos FC from registering new players due to unpaid debts to former players Emmanuel Paga (US$8,500) and Fredrick Ansah-Botchway (US$10,000). The ban affects both domestic and international competitions.”

Both players involved in the dispute have since left the club. Ghanaian forward Paga joined Manica Diamonds while his fellow countryman, Ansah-Botchway, is now turning out for Scottland FC in midfield.

More Trouble for a Club in Crisis

The FIFA ban adds more pressure on Dynamos, who are already struggling both on and off the pitch. The club has made a poor start to the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season, and frustrations are boiling over among the fanbase.

A section of supporters has begun calling for a boycott of all home matches, which started with their derby clash against CAPS United at Rufaro Stadium on 18 May. The protests are largely directed at the Moses Maunganidze-led executive, which many fans accuse of mismanagement and a lack of professionalism. Some are demanding that the entire leadership step down, blaming them for the club’s ongoing decline.
