Sabastian Magacha Accused of Neglecting Daughter, Forgetting Her Real Age
Gospel singer Sabastian Magacha has landed in hot water after being accused of neglecting his six-year-old daughter, so much so that he reportedly forgot her actual age and publicly celebrated the wrong birthday.

The drama began when Magacha took to his WhatsApp status to celebrate what he believed was his daughter’s seventh birthday. However, according to the child’s mother, the little girl had just turned six. She says this mix-up shows just how far removed the singer is from his daughter’s life.
The child’s mother, who was in a brief relationship with Magacha back in 2018, has now taken the matter to the Harare Civil Court. She claims Magacha agreed to co-parent when the baby was born, even pledging to contribute to her welfare by paying US$100 monthly, covering school fees and helping with medical bills.
But she says the singer last supported the child in November 2023—and since then, she’s had to carry the entire financial burden on her own.

In her affidavit, the mother outlines how Magacha’s promises have been nothing but empty words. She says her multiple attempts to get him to pay for the child’s needs—including school fees and medical costs—have been ignored.
She added that even when she finally pushed him hard in January 2024, he only managed to pay part of the school fees, leaving her to cover the rest. By February, Magacha was allegedly back to making excuses and unfulfilled promises.
The mother insists that Magacha is not short of money. She pointed out that he continues to perform at events, including an AFM Youth Conference in April 2025, and has an upcoming UK tour. She also revealed that he can take care of another child he has with his current wife—something she believes proves he’s choosing to neglect one child in favour of another.

What She Wants Magacha to Pay
The mother wants the court to force Magacha to start paying up. She is asking for:
US$250 monthly maintenance (including interest), broken down into: US$50 for a house aide, US$50 for school transport, US$70 for food and lunchbox supplies, US$80 for extracurricular activities and clothing. She also wants him to resume covering school fees in full.
The court has given Magacha until Tuesday, 9 June 2025, to respond. The matter is set to be heard on Friday, 13 June 2025.
