Thabiso Monyane Bids Emotional Farewell to Orlando Pirates After 13 Years
Thabiso Monyane has officially parted ways with Orlando Pirates, marking the end of a remarkable 13-year journey with the club.
The 25-year-old right-back, who first joined the club as a 12-year-old, rose through the ranks and was promoted to the senior team in July 2019. He went on to make over 90 appearances for the Soweto giants.
Gratitude to the Club and Fans
In a heartfelt statement posted on his Facebook page, Thabiso Monyane reflected on his departure with mixed emotions, expressing deep appreciation for the role Orlando Pirates played in shaping his career.
“As I close this chapter of my life, I’m filled with a mix of emotions – sadness to leave behind the only football home I’ve ever known, but also excitement for the new journey ahead,” he wrote.
He expressed gratitude for the development he experienced on and off the pitch, celebrating the trophies won, the unforgettable memories made, and the lifelong friendships he formed during his 13-year tenure with the club.
“Joining the institution at 12 to 25, this club has been my everything. I’ve grown as a player, but more importantly, as a person. I’m grateful for the trophies we’ve won, the memories we’ve created, and the friendships that will last a lifetime.”

He went on to thank the club’s chairman, technical team, staff, past and present teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support, describing the atmosphere they created as “electric.”
“To the fans, thank you for your unwavering support. Your cheers, chants, constructive criticism and passion fueled me every step of the way. I’ll never forget the electric atmosphere you created on match days.
To the chairman, staff, technical team, and players, past and present, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and camaraderie. You’ve all played a role in shaping me into the player I am today.”

Thabiso Monyane also reflected on the invaluable lessons and memories gained during his time with Orlando Pirates. He expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to don the black and white jersey and be part of the club’s rich history, describing his 13-year journey as unforgettable
