Detective Kedha Responds Back After ZRP Denies Interpol Links
Tafadzwa Chidawa, better known as Detective Kedha, has hit back after police dismissed his claims of working with Interpol. The popular private investigator and online personality is at the centre of a growing storm involving the recovery of a stolen Toyota Land Cruiser in Malawi.
Over the weekend, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) released a statement through spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, making it clear that Interpol only works through official police structures, not with private individuals or firms.
But Chidawa isn’t taking that quietly.
Detective Kedha Responds After ZRP Denies Interpol Links
In a statement issued Sunday, 22 June 2025, Chidawa defended himself and his company, Matrix Private Investigations and Security. He argued that Interpol is a global organisation made up of many member countries and cannot be claimed or controlled by any single police force.
Essentially, he said the ZRP’s statement was misleading and tried to downplay the legal work his team carried out. Part of the statement reads:
“Interpol is an international organization comprising multiple member countries, and in all progressive jurisdictions, the role and legitimacy of Private Investigators is clearly recognized.
With specific reference to the recent recovery of a stolen Land Cruiser, we wish to clarify that Matrix Private Investigations and Security was lawfully engaged by the complainant to carry out investigations. Our team successfully traced and located the vehicle in Malawi.
Any statements casting doubt on the authenticity of this recovery are not only misleading but undermine a legitimate process undertaken by a licensed firm.”

Matrix’s statement also pushed back at any suggestion that their recovery of the stolen car was shady or unauthorised. The firm emphasised that it is a properly registered and licensed security company, with global partnerships that help it operate efficiently across borders.
They said any claims questioning the legitimacy of their work were not only wrong, but also damaging to the image of private investigators in a country that wants to modernise its institutions. Matrix closed off by urging the public to ignore what it called “unfounded reports” and to always rely on verified sources for information. The statement reads:
“As a nation striving toward modernization and progress across all sectors, any form of unprofessional conduct not only undermines Zimbabwe’s Vision of becoming an upper middle-income economy but also risks projecting a regressive image among our peer nations.
We urge members of the public to disregard unfounded reports and to seek information from verified and credible sources.”
