Springboks captain Siya Kolisi has been ruled out of Saturday’s highly anticipated Qatar Airways Cup match against the Barbarians at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town.

Siya Kolisi Withdraws Due to Injury Niggle
Coach Rassie Erasmus was forced to make a late change to his team on Friday after Siya Kolisi withdrew due to a niggle.
The Springboks confirmed the development in an official post on X.
“Late change to the #Springboks team as Siya Kolisi is ruled out, with Jesse Kriel taking the captaincy against the @Barbarian_FC in Cape Town tomorrow 
#ForeverGreenForeverGold”
Jesse Kriel Makes Springboks Captaincy Debut
Jesse Kriel will take over the captaincy and lead the Springboks onto the field. Kriel, who has earned 79 Test caps since his debut in 2015, described the opportunity as a significant honour.
This marks the first time he will captain the national side in a Test match.
Van Staden Drafted into Starting XV
Marco van Staden has been called up to replace Siya Kolisi in the starting lineup. He will join Vincent Tshituka and Jean-Luc du Preez in the loose trio.
The rest of the team remains unchanged from the lineup announced by Erasmus earlier in the week.
