Ten fake doctors have been arrested in various parts of the country for providing health services.
The Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) said the arrests bring to 34 the number of people who have been caught since last year.
The council says a woman was recently arrested in Durban for advertising that she provides health services while she is not registered.
The council’s spokesperson Priscilla Sekhonyana advised people be cautions when selecting healthcare practitioners.
“The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the HPCSA via email at inspectorateoffice@hpcsa.co.za,” said Sekhonyana.
