Zimbabweans Mock Police Over ‘State-of-the-Art’ Motorbikes Claim
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has announced the deployment of 10 “state-of-the-art” motorcycles to strengthen traffic enforcement in Harare’s central business district (CBD) and surrounding roads.
The initiative, led by Commissioner-General Stephen Mutamba, is aimed at tackling traffic chaos, unruly conduct, and lawlessness on city roads.

Police Urge Public to Report Dangerous Driving
In an official post, the ZRP encouraged citizens to report motorists, whether private or public service, who engage in dangerous driving.
“The ZRP has intensified traffic enforcement duties in Harare CBD through the release of 10 state-of-the-art motorcycles by the Commissioner-General of Police Stephen Mutamba. These motorbikes will assist the Police to deal with traffic chaos, lawlessness and unruly conduct in the CBD and all roads which lead into Harare. Zimbabweans are urged to report errant motorists, whether private or public service, who exhibit dangerous driving conduct, for the law to take its course,” the statement read.

Zimbabweans Lampoon ZRP’s “State-of-the-Art” Motorbike Claim
Zimbabweans have expressed skepticism over the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s claim that their newly deployed motorcycles are “state-of-the-art.” While many welcomed the increased police presence on the roads, they ridiculed the description, arguing that the bikes are far from high-tech and that the term is overused in political and official circles.
Here are some of the reactions;
@afbimha;
The bikes are not state of the art, whatever that means. I’m however glad there’ll be more visible police presence on our roads. I hope the presence will not be used to fund raise or to harass innocent motorists but to curb errant driving.
@Shakenotspear;
So ZRP really thinks dropping 10 shiny new motorbikes into Harare CBD is gonna solve traffic chaos? Bruh, there’s more kombis than potholes, and y’all riding in like Fast & Furious: ZRP Edition.
Commissioner Mutamba out here flexing like he just launched a space program: “state-of-the-art motorcycles.” Sir, it’s a motorbike, not a cure for load shedding.
