Renowned Sungura musician Alick Macheso has announced a suspension of his performances in Zimbabwe until the release of his highly anticipated new album. The album launch is set for August 2nd at the Alex Sports Club in Harare.
Macheso’s publicist, Tich Makahamadze, confirmed the news, stating that the artist will focus on perfecting the new album and has turned down all local bookings. However, Macheso will make an exception for a festival in South Africa, where he will share the stage with rising star Mark Ngwazi.
The album launch was initially scheduled for June 7th but was postponed due to fan feedback about the cold weather in June. The new date coincides with warmer outdoor temperatures, allowing fans to fully enjoy the occasion.
