Thembinkosi Lorch Officially Parts Ways with Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the departure of midfielder Thembinkosi “Nyoso” Lorch, marking the end of his two-year stay with the Tshwane giants.
The announcement comes after weeks of speculation about his future following his return from a loan spell in Morocco.
Sundowns Thank “Nyoso” for His Contribution
In a heartfelt post shared on social media, the club paid tribute to the 32-year-old midfielder, who joined the Brazilians from Orlando Pirates in 2023.
“𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗞 𝗬𝗢𝗨, 𝗡𝗬𝗢𝗦𝗢

After 2 unforgettable years, 1 league title, 26 appearances, 7 goals and 4 assists, the Yellow Nation thanks and celebrates Thembinkosi Lorch.
“Wishing you all the best as you start the next chapter of your journey!,” the club wrote.
Lorch was part of the team that clinched the DStv Premiership title, adding another milestone to his already decorated career.
Successful Loan Spell at Wydad AC
Lorch spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Moroccan giants Wydad AC, where he quickly became a fan favourite. His standout performances during the FIFA Club World Cup showcased his attacking flair and experience, earning praise from both fans and pundits.
Despite his strong form in North Africa, his future at Sundowns became uncertain following the end of his loan, especially after the departure of head coach Rulani Mokwena, who had played a key role in securing his signature.
Speculation Over Next Move
Following his release, speculation is mounting that Lorch could return to Wydad AC on a permanent deal. The Moroccan club is reportedly interested in re-signing the midfielder after his impressive stint during the loan period.
For now, neither Lorch nor Wydad has commented on the possibility, but fans are eager to see where the next chapter of “Nyoso’s” career will take him.
