ZRP Launches Manhunt After Man Fatally Stabs Friend For Spilling Beer

The ZRP launches a nationwide manhunt after a Tsholotsho man stabs his friend to death for spilling beer. The incident, which occurred this past Thursday, has prompted an urgent manhunt by local authorities. The altercation, described by police as brutally swift, began over what would typically be considered a minor social mishap: an accidental spillage of beer.

According to official reports, the suspect, identified as Mehluli Moyo, aged 33, was sharing a drink with 22-year-old Luckmore Nhliziyo when the situation turned deadly. It is alleged that a heated argument erupted after the younger man, Nhliziyo, inadvertently knocked over Moyo’s beverage. The disagreement escalated with terrifying speed, moving from harsh words to lethal violence in a matter of moments. The suspect’s temper is said to have flared uncontrollably, leading to the devastating attack.

The weapon used in the assault was an okapi knife, a common tool that became an instrument of murder. Witnesses reported that the attack was frenzied and relentless. Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the national police spokesperson, provided a grim account of the events. He stated,

“The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim, Luckmore Nhliziyo, with an okapi multiple times all over the body after an argument during a beer drinking spree.”

The force and number of wounds inflicted were so severe that Nhliziyo collapsed immediately at the scene and was pronounced dead, his life cut short in a sudden explosion of violence.

A Community Urged to Assist in the Hunt for Justice

In the aftermath, the suspect, Mehluli Moyo, is understood to have fled the area, evading capture. The police have launched a comprehensive search and are now turning to the public for assistance in locating the wanted man. Commissioner Nyathi has made a direct appeal for information, emphasising the importance of community cooperation in bringing the fugitive to account.

“Police in Tsholotsho are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the suspect,” he confirmed.

Authorities are urging anyone who might have knowledge of Moyo’s current whereabouts to come forward and report it to their nearest police station without delay. The plea underscores a collective desire for resolution and justice for the young life so pointlessly lost.

The tragic death of Luckmore Nhliziyo serves as a stark and sobering reminder of how quickly a casual social gathering can turn catastrophic. As the investigation continues, the family of the victim is left to mourn, while the hunt for the man accused of this terrible crime intensifies across the region.
