AA calls for long-term solutions to prevent rising fuel costs over time

The Automobile Association (AA) again called for long-term solutions to prevent rising fuel costs over time, as consumers continue to face high costs of living.

The association made the comments ahead of the adjustment of fuel prices for July.

AA spokesperson, Eleanor Mavimbela, said motorists were expected to pay about R1 less for a litre of both grades of petrol, while diesel is set to drop by 30 cents a litre.

‘A decrease to fuel prices in July will mark the first time this year that prices have fallen in two consecutive months.”

Despite the reprieve, the association said that the new Cabinet needed to prioritize a review of the fuel pricing structure.
