ZIFA Describes Loss As Devastating

In a statement, ZIFA described the deaths as an immeasurable loss not only for Highlanders but also for the city of Bulawayo and Zimbabwean football as a whole.

The association praised the three administrators for their dedication, leadership and selfless service, saying they had each played an important role in strengthening one of the country’s most celebrated football clubs.

Tragedy Strikes During Highlanders’ Centenary

ZIFA said the timing of the tragedy made the loss even more painful, as Highlanders are marking their centenary year.

The milestone was expected to be a celebration of the club’s rich history, achievements and resilience. Instead, the Bosso family has been plunged into mourning following the deaths of three key members of its executive leadership.

Magwizi Offers Condolences

ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and the entire Highlanders community.

He said Zimbabwean football had lost three devoted servants whose passion and commitment helped shape one of the nation’s greatest football institutions.

Magwizi added that it was especially heartbreaking that the tragedy occurred during Highlanders’ 100th anniversary celebrations, a period that should have been marked by joy and reflection rather than grief.

He also prayed for comfort, strength and peace for the families, club officials, players, supporters and everyone affected by the devastating loss.

Football Community Stands With Highlanders

ZIFA said it stands in solidarity with Highlanders Football Club during this difficult time and pledged its support to the club and the wider football fraternity.
