Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe Faces Additional Charge Over Missing Gun
The South African Police Service (SAPS) have confirmed that Bellarmine “Chatunga” Mugabe, son of former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, is now facing an additional charge of defeating the ends of justice alongside an attempted murder charge.
The new allegation relates to claims that Mugabe and his co-accused concealed the firearm allegedly used in the shooting of one of his employees.
Missing Firearm Raises New Allegations
Authorities say the added charge stems from the disappearance of the gun believed to have been used in the incident. The firearm has not yet been recovered.
Mugabe and his co-accused were initially charged with attempted murder following the shooting of their gardener last week. Police say investigations led to the additional count after the weapon could not be located.

The case has drawn significant public interest due to Mugabe’s family background.
Lawyer Says Client in “High Spirits”
Meanwhile, Mugabe’s lawyer, Jason Saus, said his client remains in high spirits.
However, Saus indicated that he was not yet fully clear on the details surrounding the second charge relating to the missing firearm.
Police investigations are ongoing.
