Bindura Man Arrested After Police Find Human Skulls Wrapped In Ritual Cloths

Human Skulls Wrapped In Ritual Cloths Found In Bindura Man’s Home: Police Arrest 28-Year-Old

Police in Zimbabwe have confirmed a shocking arrest after a man was found in possession of multiple human skulls and bones, each carefully wrapped in brightly coloured cloths. The grisly discovery followed the suspect’s initial detention for an unrelated offence earlier in the week.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), 28-year-old Alfred Chinjiva was first apprehended on Monday, 2 February 2026. This initial arrest occurred at a mine in Bindura, where he was found with a dummy pistol.

The ZRP stated on X,

“The suspect was initially apprehended on 02/02/26 for possession of articles of criminal use after being found with a dummy pistol at a mine in Bindura.”

The investigation took a macabre turn when officers searched Chinjiva’s home in Chipandura Park. What they found there forms the core of the sensational case.

A Grisly Discovery At The Suspect’s Home

The police search of the residence yielded a collection of human remains that officials described in detailed and chilling terms.

The ZRP’s post listed the items recovered, stating,

“Following his arrest, police searched his residence in Chipandura Park and recovered human remains, including one skull with two cuts on the back wrapped in a yellow cloth, another skull wrapped in a red cloth, a single bone wrapped in a red cloth, two buckets containing bones wrapped in green, yellow, black and blue cloths and three plastic containers containing soil mixed with suspected human bones and hair.”

The specific mention of the coloured cloths—yellow, red, green, black, and blue—has sparked intense public speculation about their potential ritualistic significance. The condition of one skull, noted to have two cuts on the back, is also a key focus for forensic investigators.

Investigation Remains Ongoing

Authorities have stressed that their enquiries are at an early stage and are continuing. The ZRP has not released any potential motive for the possession of the remains, nor have they indicated if Chinjiva has been linked to any specific missing persons cases.

In their statement, the police added, “More details will be released as investigations progress.”

The origins of the human remains and the reasons for their collection and storage are now the subject of an active police investigation. Forensic teams are working to identify the deceased individuals and establish a timeline of events.
