Former Mighty Warriors captain Nobuhle Majika is appealing for help with raising US$300 to fund her coaching dream.
The legend of Zimbabwean women’s football has issued a heartfelt public appeal for support to fund her crucial transition from player to coach. Nobuhle Majika, the former captain and defensive stalwart of the Mighty Warriors, requires just US$300 to attend a vital Confederation of African Football D Licence coaching course in South Africa this October.
The course, which runs from the 17th to the 25th, represents a critical next step for Majika, who has already been accepted onto the programme. However, her ambition to build a new career on the sidelines is now threatened by a lack of financial resources, leaving her future in the game in question.
N Desire to Give Back to the Game
Having graced the highest stages of international football, including the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, Majika is determined to use her vast experience to nurture the next generation of talent. She articulated her powerful motivation for pursuing this path.

“I feel I need to give back to the game and impact the next generation of players. I’ve represented my country at the highest level, including the Olympics, and now it’s time to pass on that knowledge.”

Majika was an integral part of the history-making Mighty Warriors squad that secured Zimbabwe’s first-ever qualification for an Olympic Games in women’s football. She also featured prominently at the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon, cementing her status as one of the nation’s finest defenders.

Now serving as a player-assistant coach at the Mpopoma Sports Academy in the Zifa Women’s Premier Soccer League, Majika recognises that her playing days are inevitably drawing to a close. She sees coaching not as an end, but as a new beginning where her football intellect can continue to shine.
“I’m not growing any younger. My legs can’t carry me forever, but my brain and experience can,” she stated pragmatically. “This course will give me the skills to coach and inspire young girls.”
Her appeal is a simple one, focusing on the transformative power of a relatively small sum of money that stands between her and a formal coaching qualification.
“I’m appealing to anyone who can assist me in realising this dream. It’s only US$300 but it means the world to me,” Majika added.
