Four People Arrested in Harare Drug Bust
The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested four suspected drug dealers at a truck stop along Simon Mazorodze Road in Harare after recovering 40 kilogrammes of mbanje during a raid.
The suspects, identified as Christina Mazango, Chelusi Saidi, Priscilla Matros and Joseph Mangwende, were apprehended on Monday following a police operation targeting illegal drug activities.
Authorities said detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit acted on received intelligence before moving in on the suspects.

40kg of Mbanje Recovered
National police spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrests to The Herald and said officers recovered 40 kilogrammes of dagga from the suspects.
The arrests form part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse.
More Arrests Along Bulawayo-Harare Road
In a separate operation, police arrested Howard Chiweshe, Tanaka Tasara, Valerie Manyura and Regard Gumbo at Sharona Park along the Bulawayo–Harare Road.
The suspects were allegedly found in possession of mbanje and bottles of Boncleer cough syrup.
Police said investigations into the matter are continuing and the suspects are expected to appear in court soon.

Bus Passenger Arrested With Contraband
Meanwhile, another suspect, Garikai Guruvaza, was arrested at Hwedza turn-off after police intercepted a bus and allegedly discovered Astra Pain cough syrup in his possession.
Authorities believe the cough syrup was being transported illegally.
Bulawayo Man Held Over Mbanje Cultivation
In Bulawayo, police also arrested Reason Mpande over allegations of unlawful possession and cultivation of mbanje.
Detectives reportedly recovered loose dagga during a search at his workplace before the suspect led officers to his residence, where a mbanje field was allegedly discovered.
