Genesis Mangombe Lands Triangle United Job a Day After Dynamos FC Suspension
Genesis Mangombe is set to make a swift return to Triangle United after reportedly reaching an agreement with the Lowveld club just a day after being suspended by Dynamos.
Sources close to the developments indicate that the coach travelled to Triangle on Tuesday evening for discussions with club executives, with talks ending positively and paving the way for his appointment.
While the club is yet to formally unveil him, preparations are reportedly underway for Mangombe to take charge of the team ahead of this weekend’s league fixture against CAPS United.

Rapid Return to Familiar Territory
The move would mark Mangombe’s second stint with the Sugar Boys in less than a year.
According to Soccer24, the coach left Triangle United at the conclusion of last season to rejoin Dynamos, where he was tasked with leading the Harare giants. However, his stay at the Glamour Boys has come to an abrupt halt following his recent suspension.
His return to Triangle now offers him an opportunity to resume a project at a club where he previously enjoyed a successful spell.
Appointment Awaiting Official Confirmation
Although an agreement is understood to have been reached, Triangle United have not yet announced Mangombe’s arrival publicly.
Sources say the delay is linked to unresolved matters surrounding his departure from Dynamos, which are still being finalised before the move can be officially confirmed.
Despite that, indications are that he could be on the bench when Triangle host CAPS United on Saturday.
Chitembwe Era Nearing an End
Mangombe is expected to take over from Lloyd Chitembwe, whose side has struggled to find form this season.
Triangle have endured a difficult campaign and have found victories hard to come by, prompting the club to seek a change in technical leadership as it attempts to improve results during the second half of the season.
The arrival of Mangombe is viewed as part of efforts to revive the team’s fortunes and climb away from the lower reaches of the table.
Dynamos Look Abroad for New Coach
Meanwhile, Dynamos are wasting little time in identifying a replacement.
The Harare club is understood to be close to appointing a European coach, with a Serbian tactician emerging as the preferred candidate.
The coach recently arrived in Zimbabwe and is expected to assume control of the team in the coming days, signalling the beginning of a new chapter at the country’s most decorated football club.
