A Harare businessman is left counting his losses after he loses US$500K in a daring daylight robbery stunt in the CBD.

Armed criminals stormed a popular shopping centre in Zimbabwe’s capital, leaving the business community in shock. The violent robbery occurred at Steve’s Mall along Cameroon Street, typically one of Harare’s busiest commercial hubs.

Eyewitnesses report that a well-organized gang specifically targeted a successful Indian merchant conducting business at the mall. The assailants allegedly made off with approximately half a million US dollars in cash along with valuable electronic equipment before escaping the scene.

“Everything happened so fast,” shared a neighbouring shop owner who asked to remain anonymous. “One moment it was business as usual, the next we heard commotion and saw people running. The criminals clearly knew what they were after.”

Police Launch Manhunt for Dangerous Criminals

Law enforcement authorities have confirmed they are treating this as a major criminal investigation. Forensic teams combed the crime scene for evidence while detectives interviewed potential witnesses.

“We have mobilized all available resources to track down these armed robbers,” stated a police spokesperson. “Such violent crimes against businesspeople will not be tolerated in our city. We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
