A 42-year-old Harare man, Takawira Guruza, was arrested after posing as a police officer during a brazen daylight robbery in Ruwa on 2 December 2025.

Elaborate Robbery Scheme

According to The Herald, the gang allegedly approached a taxi driver, Joakim Kwenda, claiming they were police officers needing transport.

Using Kwenda’s Toyota Wish, they travelled to George Shopping Centre, where they confronted Wesley Katsatsa, accusing him of committing an unspecified offence.

Wesley was allegedly bundled into the vehicle, and the suspects took US$600 from his bag. When Pretty Katsatsa demanded her bag back, it was reportedly returned empty.

Dramatic Public Intervention

The robbery escalated when the gang tried to drive away, forcing the taxi driver out of the car. In a dramatic turn, Pretty Katsatsa jumped onto the bonnet and screamed for help, attracting bystanders who captured Guruza, while the other suspects fled with the stolen money.
