Jah Prayzah Postpones Wedding After Wicknell Chivayo’s Death
Jah Prayzah has postponed his much-anticipated wedding following the death of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, who was expected to attend the ceremony as a distinguished guest.
The musician had been due to marry Mukudzeyi on 3 October, but announced that the wedding would no longer go ahead as planned following the fatal helicopter crash that claimed Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke and four other people.

‘Some Things Must Stop’
Sharing a statement on Facebook, Jah Prayzah said the sudden deaths had left him and his family deeply heartbroken.
“Hatina mashoko akakwana panguva yakadai.
The sudden loss of our dear brother Sir Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy, and all those who lost their lives in this tragic accident has left us deeply heartbroken.
Wicknell was more than a friend to us. He was family, a brother, and someone who walked closely with us through many chapters of life. Losing him together with Lucy in such a sudden way is a pain that is difficult to put into words.”
He also extended his condolences to the other families affected by the tragedy, asking God to give them strength and comfort during the grieving period.
Jah Prayzah said the circumstances called for a pause, explaining why he had decided to postpone the wedding.
“Pane nguva yekuti zvimwe zvinhu zvese zvinofanira kumbomira. Out of love, respect and the need to grieve with family, our wedding which was scheduled for 3 October has been postponed.
We will continue with our wedding plans when the time is right.”
Chivayo Was Close To The Musician
The decision comes as Jah Prayzah mourns a businessman who had played a significant role in his life and music career.
Chivayo was known for supporting the musician through various gifts, including luxury vehicles and financial contributions. His generosity also extended to members of Jah Prayzah’s band.
The businessman was expected to attend the wedding, making his death particularly significant for the musician and his family.
The new wedding date has not yet been announced.
