A video showing businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, participating in an altar call has resurfaced following their deaths in a helicopter crash.

The couple were attending a church service in South Africa when they joined other worshippers who had come forward during a prayer of salvation led by Nigerian preacher Apostle Joshua Selman.

The emotional moment took place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, just four days before the couple died in the fatal helicopter accident.

Chivayo And Lucy Join Worshippers

The couple were among congregants who responded after Selman invited people who wanted to receive Jesus Christ to come forward.

In footage from the service, Chivayo and Lucy can be seen standing among the worshippers as the preacher led them through a series of declarations of faith.

At one point, both Chivayo and Lucy raised their hands while participating in the prayer.

Selman first asked those who had responded to affirm their belief in Jesus Christ, His identity as the Son of God and His resurrection.

Selman then led the worshippers through a declaration centred on accepting Jesus Christ as their Saviour, Lord and King.

Chivayo and his wife were visibly part of the group taking part in the prayer.

Chivayo Reflects On Meeting Apostle Selman

After the service, Chivayo shared his thoughts about the encounter with Selman on Instagram, saying he was grateful for the opportunity to meet the preacher.

“What a great honour and privilege for my wife and I to meet the highly respected Apostle Joshua Selman at the House of Treasures Church Conference, under the leadership of Apostle Felix Okoh,” he wrote.

Chivayo said Selman’s teachings had left him spiritually refreshed and made him reflect on the importance of continuing to seek wisdom regardless of his achievements.

“I was truly blessed by Apostle Selman’s profound teachings, wisdom and revelation of the Word of God. There are encounters that remind you that irrespective of what you have achieved in life, there is always another level of wisdom to receive, another lesson to learn and, most importantly, another reason to remain on your knees before GOD,” he wrote.

Chivayo also linked his faith to his ambitions of expanding his business interests across Africa and beyond.

“As I continue pursuing my vision of becoming a MULTI-BILLIONAIRE and building businesses of significant magnitude across Africa and beyond, I understand very well that money, intelligence and hard work alone are never enough,” he said.

He added that he needed prayers for himself, his family and his ventures.

“I need PRAYERS from every corner of the world. 🌍🙏🏾 I need men and women of God to continuously speak blessings, wisdom, protection, favour and divine direction over my life, my family and everything that God has entrusted into my hands.”

‘Some Meetings Are Divine Appointments’

Chivayo thanked Selman for his teachings and also expressed appreciation to Felix Okoh and the House of Treasures Ministries community.

He said the experience had encouraged him to continue working hard while keeping God at the centre of his life.

“Some meetings are appointments; others are DIVINE APPOINTMENTS. This was certainly one of them,” Chivayo wrote.

He concluded the post by declaring:

“TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY… The journey continues, and by His grace, the vision only gets BIGGER!!! 🌍🙏🏾💰”

Four days later, Chivayo and Lucy died alongside security aide Sanelisiwe Magagula, pilot Calvin Tafirei Soda and co-pilot Courage Mutavirwa when their helicopter crashed at Kudenga Farm near Marondera.
