Bill Gates has admitted regret over “every minute” he spent with Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, his former wife, Melinda, said questions still remain.
Last week, the US Justice Department released new Epstein-related documents. These emails revealed friendly exchanges, financial links, and private photos involving prominent figures.
In a draft email, Epstein made serious claims about Gates. He wrote that his relationship with Gates involved “helping Bill to get drugs, in order to deal with consequences of sex with Russian girls, to facilitating his illicit trysts, with married women.”
“Every minute I spent with him, I regret, and I apologize,” Gates said in a 9News Australia interview.
“That email was never sent. The email is false,” he added.
“I don’t know what his thinking was there. Was he trying to attack me in some way?”
A Gates spokesperson also denied the claims after the files were released.
“The only thing these documents demonstrate is Epstein’s frustration that he did not have an ongoing relationship with Gates and the lengths he would go to entrap and defame,” the spokesperson said.
Melinda Says The Documents Revived Painful Memories
Melinda French Gates said the document release stirred difficult memories from her marriage.
She spoke to US National Public Radio about the emotional impact.
“For me, it’s personally hard whenever those details come up,” she said.
She added that many unanswered questions still exist.
“Whatever questions remain there of what – I can’t even begin to know all of it – those questions are for those people and for even my ex-husband. They need to answer to those things, not me.”
The couple divorced in 2021.
Gates Explains The Nature Of His Meetings With Epstein
Gates explained that he met Epstein in 2011. Over three years, they had several dinners together.
He clarified that he never visited Epstein’s Caribbean island. He also denied any relations with women.
“The focus was always, he knew a lot of very rich people, and he was saying he could get them to give money to global health. In retrospect, that was a dead end,” Gates said.
Although being named in the files does not prove wrongdoing, the documents show many unexpected connections. These links involve public figures who previously downplayed or denied their association with Epstein.
