Kelsea Tafirenyika And Her Uncle Remain In Custody After Bail Bid Fails
Socialite Kelsea Tadiwa Tafirenyika and her uncle, Issac Jassub, will remain in remand prison after their bid for bail was rejected.
Harare regional magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa dismissed their application, citing concerns about the drug offences they are facing.

Court Cites Public Safety Concerns
The magistrate reportedly found that the two posed a potential danger to society if released on bail.
The court was told that police recovered drugs from the accused during a raid.
Some of the substances were reportedly foreign-manufactured and linked to use in Malawi.
The allegations include the recovery of substances identified as pethidine, morphine and cannabis.

Bail Application Rejected
In dismissing the application, Magistrate Gofa stressed the importance of protecting the public from drug peddlers.
The court ruled that the circumstances surrounding the case justified keeping Tafirenyika and Jassub in custody.
They will therefore remain in remand prison pending the commencement of their trial.
