Khama Billiat & Knowledge Musona still can’t solve Scottland FC problem

Scottland continue searching for their first open-play goal this season. The heavily funded side drew 1-1 with Ngezi Platinum Stars at Rufaro Stadium. The match took place on Friday in the 2026 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season.

Walter Musona rescued Scottland with a 76th-minute penalty. Earlier, a costly mistake by goalkeeper Nelson Chadya gave Ngezi the lead.

The penalty arrived after Moses Shidolo was fouled inside the box. Scottland pushed hard while searching for a late equaliser.

Goalkeeper Error Gives Ngezi the Advantage

Both teams played cautiously during the first half. As a result, the teams went into halftime level at 0-0.

However, the match changed shortly after the restart. Farai Madhanaga won the ball near the centre circle and attacked quickly.

He drove forward and released a shot toward goal. Chadya appeared ready to stop the effort. However, the ball slipped through his legs and rolled into the net.

Meanwhile, Scottland had already drawn their opening match. They played out a 0-0 stalemate against Hardrock last weekend. That match took place at Chawanda Stadium in Kwekwe.

Despite the slow start, coach Norman Mapeza remains calm.

“I’m happy with the progress that we are making as a team. In some moments, our decision-making could have been better, but all the same, it’s the start of the season, and I’m satisfied with the progress we are making.”

Ngezi Coach Reacts as Matchday Two Fixtures Continue

Ngezi Platinum Stars now sit top of the league with four points. They previously defeated FC Platinum 2-1 in their opening match.

However, coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva believes improvement is still needed.

“We started well, but we didn’t defend some moments better and on the penalty we could have done better defending it.

“We also felt hard done by as it was a soft penalty, maybe the referee could have been more lenient.”

Meanwhile, several Matchday Two fixtures continue this weekend.

FC Platinum vs Manica Diamonds (Mandava)
