Two Kombi drivers are facing attempted murder charges after trying to run over police officers who were at a roadblock.

A routine traffic stop on Chiremba Road in Epworth erupted into a scene of pure terror this week, as officers were forced to leap for their lives to avoid being run down by two oncoming kombis. The harrowing incident, which occurred on the 4th of September, led to the immediate arrest of two kombi drivers on charges of attempted murder. According to a detailed police report, the drivers made a conscious decision to accelerate towards the law enforcement officials rather than bring their vehicles to a halt.
